- Massage Treatments -
What to expect during and after your massage?
When you arrive for your massage, you will fill out a Client Massage Intake form. This will ask important medical questions regarding any previous accidents you may have been in, or injuries. You will then enter the massage treatment room, and will remove clothing to your comfort level. The therapist will enter once you are finished. You are always professionally draped with the sheet/blanket. (Men normally remove everything except undergarments. Women normally removed everything except for underwear. Women are always draped with the sheet covering all private areas). During the massage you will fall into a deep relaxed state. It is normally for the Deep Tissue treatments to be somewhat "painful" at times while the therapist is using very deep pressure into your sore muscles. After your massage it is always recommended to drink PLENTY of water throughout the day. Toxins are released during a massage, which can result in headaches, dizziness, nausea, and fatigue. This normally subsides within a few hours.
How do I communicate with my therapist?
Give your therapist feedback as to your comfort and special trouble areas. We are here to make this the most relaxing and beneficial treatment for you, so tell us what your needs are. If at any point the pressure of massage is too light or too deep, please let the therapist know immediately! They enjoy communication - it allows them to give you the best treatment to your liking. If you would rather enjoy the treatment in silence, that is your choice as well. Relax and enjoy the benefits of the spa, allowing others to "do for you," but respect that the room must be prepared and used for the next client. Please know that you must leave the room upon completion of treatment within a reasonable amount of time. Often times our treatments are scheduled close in time proximity of each other.
- Facial Treatments -
Can I wear makeup before/after my facial?
We do multiple cleansings, so please remember to bring any makeup with you, as most will be removed during your treatment. We do not recommend to put makeup on directly after your facial, however it will not "ruin" your treatment. Just remember to remove makeup that night before bed and moisturize! A normal facial, without extractions normally will not leave you "red", so a need for makeup is not needed. Microderm or Peels can leave your skin a reddish-pink color, but we do not recommend any makeup for at least 24 hours after a Peel or Microderm.
Do I need extractions, do they hurt, will I be red?
The esthetician will determine during your treatment if extractions are needed. Extractions (removing blackheads/pimples), are only done for a few minutes in each zone of the face. Too much poking and squeezing can cause damage to the skin such as broken capillaries. Extractions done by a professional do not typically hurt, which is why is it recommended to get regular facials if you have a problem with breakouts, rather than attempt to do it yourself. Your skin is prepared and steamed prior to removing blackheads, which makes them literally just slide right out and it is almost painless! You may leave a little red, but this will subside within about an hour.
- Waxing Treatments -
How to prepare for waxing service?
It is recommended for all waxing treatments to be sure hair has grown or been trimmed to 1/4 inch. This allows the wax to grab the hair. If it is too short, areas will not wax cleanly leaving hair behind. If it is too long, it will be painful, and difficult to wax.
What to expect during your waxing service?
Depending on what area is to be waxed, the skin will be prepped by using professional products. These include cleansing, a powder to help wax grab hair, and after waxing, a soothing/cooling lotion is applied. We use professional wax, and waxing sticks. Our facility is extremely sanitary, we NEVER double-dip, or reuse any waxing supplies. Clients are professionally draped during body waxing. Bikini and Brazilian waxes, we recommend our BareEase Numbing Kit (available in our retail area) to help numb the area. Bikini waxing services are done on women only, and we ask that you wear an old or disposable thong or bikini bottom (wax may get on fabric which does not wash out). We make these waxing treatments as comfortable as possible, and respect your privacy.
- Teeth Whitening -
How does BleachBright Work?
We use a one size fits all mouthpiece filled with special Bleach Bright whitening gel and other essential ingredients. A commercial spectrum LED blue light is positioned between the upper and lower teeth. This process activates the gel formula and penetrates the stains on teeth. The process penetrates the tooth enamel, but will not damage the enamel.
How long does the Bleach Bright process take, and what are results?
The process takes 15-30 minutes. Results vary between 4-8 shades brighter as everyone's genetic makeup is different. The grade of your teeth and your age can affect the results. The results last on average, around 8 months to one year depending on a person's food and drink consumption. Smoking and frequent coffee drinking may cause discoloration faster than those who do not smoke/drink coffee.
Is Bleach Bright safe?
Yes, the Bleach Bright process is safe. Research has shown that if teeth and gums are normal and healthy, there is no adverse effects to bleaching one's teeth. More detailed information is available on our consent form. Teeth whitening is not safe for pregnant woman.
How long before I can eat or drink after a Bleach Bright session?
We recommend that you avoid smoking, coffee, tea, dark colas, red wine, candy and chocolates, red, green, or dark sauces for the first 24 hours after your whitening. Any food or drink that will stain a white tee shirt will have the propensity to stain your teeth. No refunds or "re-do's" will be given if you cause discoloration within the first 24 hours by consuming any of the above and similar, foods or drinks.
- Spray Tanning -
How do I prepare for my VersaSpa appointment?
- Shower, Shave, Exfoliate -
Arrive showered, shaven, free of make-up, perfume, oil, body sprays, deodorant and moisturizer for optimal results. Bring loose, dark fitting clothing for after your session. Bring a bathing suit or undergarments to wear (if desired). However, most customers opt to tan nude. If you have not exfoliated properly, or naturally have areas of dry skin, your sunless tan may come out blotchy. Also, constant sweating/tight clothes, swimming, and showering can cause some blotchiness to your sunless tan. The VersaSpa session lasts about 58 seconds plus dry time for the application. During busy times (Thurs/Fri 3-6pm) there may be a 5-15 minute wait for Spray Tan Sessions. Normally you are in and out within 10 minutes.
Why is keeping skin moisturized essential to maintain sunless results?
It is important to keep skin moisturized after your VersaSpa session as dry, flaky skin will slough off faster and color will fade sooner. Sunless tan-extending products with a light self-tanning bronzer, helps hydrate skin and maintain even, natural looking color longer by providing subtle bronzers. We offer a variety!
How long should I wait after I VersaSpa before I shower/excersise?
It is best to wait at least 6-8 hours after the sunless tan application before you shower to give the DHA time to fully react with skin proteins.
How many days will a VersaSpa tan last?
The longevity of a VersaSpa Sunless tan depends on the skin's natural exfoliation process, and on the skin regimen followed before and after application. On average, a sunless tan will last 4-7 days. The "life span" of a VersaSpa sunless tan also depends on your skin's natural exfoliation. The faster your skin regenerates, the faster the sunless tan will fade. The tan created by the DHA and Erythrulose affects only the top layer of the skin and will begin to fade after 4 to 5 days as the skin naturally begins to exfoliate.
How frequently do you recommend I VersaSpa?
The frequency of VersaSpa sunless tanning application depends on your skin cell turn over and preference of color intensity. People with quickcell turn-overs may want to VersaSpa every 3-4 days to keep color fresh, while others may need to apply only once every 7-10 days.
Can I VersaSpa in addition to a tanning bed?
Absolutely! In fact, the VersaSpa Sunless tanning results are phenomenal over a nice base tan. If you want to combine both applications in a single visit, we recommend our Combo Tanning "Cocktail"! You can use the PREP GEL which is Scientifically formulated to enhance UV and Sunless tanning Treatments by balancing your bodys PH levels, hydrating skin and increasing absorption levels before your session.
Will the solution from the VersaSpa come off on my clothes?
Some of the bronzer "cosmetic tint" color may rub off on clothing or bed sheets. This is most likely to happen when you get dressed immediately after tanning. To minimize the chance of the tint transferring to clothing, we recommend that you wear loose-fitting, darker clothes after your VersaSpa session. The Cosmetic tint is water-soluble. Therefore, in most cases, the color will come out of clothing in the wash. We also offer the CLEAR solution, which offers almost identical results of the "Bronzer", but without any color transferring to clothes or sheets. (However, with either color solution we can not guarantee it will not come off on white clothes or sheets even a few days after, if you sweat in them.)
Do I need to wear sunscreen even if I have a sunless tan?
Although you may feel and look like you have a real tan , a sunless tan is only the temporary appearance of a tan and therefore provides your skin with no real sunburn protection. It is absolutely necessary you wear a sunscreen when outdoors to protect your skin from burning.
Will I turn orange? Why do some self tanners make me turn orange?
The simple answer is NO the VersaSpa will not turn you orange! Our staff will recommend the color/solution you should use. If you opt to go darker than recommended, there is a chance an more unnatural color can appear. We have never had anyone be "Orange" like regular sunless tanners can cause!
It can be a combination of the type of self tanner used and the level of DHA (the active self tanning ingredient). Self Tanners have come a long way since their introduction. Traditional self tanners relied solely on DHA to create a temporary "tan". Recently, many self tanners started including Erythrulose, a similar type ingredient that delivers a more golden color to the skin, whereas DHA tends to be more red/orange. The use of these two self tanning ingredients together and with the right balance allows for a more golden-brown hue and a more natural looking "tan". In addition, Erythrulose takes longer to react than DHA, therefore allowing for longer lasting sunless color. Always use a professional self tanner rather a product from a discount store for best results!
